Building on my fist group of artworks I have spent the last 7 months

creating a new body of works made in wood and ceramic that explores the

process of creating following my intuition, crafting work focused

on the process and not the outcome. This has allowed me to

approach the materials from a different perspective, not merely as a

practical medium in which to construct a functional piece but rather a

means of communicating texture and technique without the confines of

purpose. 

The works are made by preparing clay slabs and cutting, pressing or

carving these to create the forms, this time adding a few pieces that

are more abstract and layered, I have also explored a different use of

glazes and oxides. I have added timber to weave in natural texture and

wood grain beauty to the pieces, sometimes carved, punched or used as a

means to frame the ceramic compositions. 

Each of these pieces encapsulates a moment of creative freedom.
